I too had a wonderful experience with American carpet. I recently bought my first condo and was looking specifically for someone in the neighborhood to install carpet on my stairs. One of the workers came out to my home for a free estimate and charged me significantly less to install the carpet than other places I had considered. The worker was extremely friendly and even helped me make up my mind since I was so indecisive. And the quality of work was great!

Okay so…my wife and I moved into a new home and the basement was an absolute wreck and to rehab it. When it came to budgeting carpet I was confident we could get something nice for a reasonable price but I would soon learn it’s almost impossible after receiving several quotes from the following companies: Home Carpet One, Home Depot, Luna, Empire and Peerless. They all tried selling us crap, it was simply poor quality (the volume count measured in ounces) and the padding thickness they were willing to provide was ridiculous (3/8 of an inch). I was ready to give up and then I came across American Carpet on Yelp which I almost passed up because they only had 4 reviews. I spoke with Larry and he showed up the next day to take measurements, he was very polite and professional, there was no high pressure sales, he simply wanted to know what style we were looking for and a rough idea of color. Later that week my wife and kids went to there warehouse to make a final selection and she told me it was nothing fancy, pretty much just a warehouse with a small room of samples. Larry was was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what carpet would work best for us. In all we now have a high quality nylon carpet with a thick 1/2 inch padding at almost half the price the others had quoted me. Thank you American Carpet you guys are the Best!

Quick, professional, friendly, and perfect is the best way to describe my experience with American Carpet (AC&HFD Inc.). I used yelp to find Larry and his company and couldn’t be happier. Larry came for an in home consultation, I picked the carpet and provided a down payment. He explained the timeframe for installation which was quicker than expected. It was ready to be installed the next week! The installation team did a great job and was very clean. I will also mention that prior to selecting AC&HFD Inc., I did a consultation with a competitor (large chain) carpet company and Larry’s price was the best and a much better lead time for installation. I would highly recommend.

When I started looking into new carpeting for my home, I decided to get 3 quotes. One quote was Luna – the guy gave me 3 quotes before he even left my home and then told me that his manager would call me the next day and give me a lower price, which she did. What’s the point? I just want one honest quote and I want to pick my own carpet. And, why does Luna think it’s ok to only show 4 squares as my only options? Luna was not “the one”.

Next I met with Home Carpet One, which came highly recommended. The measurer was early, which was nice and their showroom was great. I selected some carpets and asked for a quote. The sales team dropped the ball. Nobody ever called me back. I had to call and ask where my estimate was. Really? Done and done.

My hopes weren’t very high for American Carpet Distributors, but Larry proved that his company is truly different. He conducted the measuring, set aside several carpet options for me to come and look at and gave me one honest, reasonable quote (in line with the others, but I didn’t have to jump through hoops or play games to get it). My carpet was installed on a Saturday, which was very convenient, too.

I had one issue with a seam, but Larry came out and personally looked over the stretching and reseaming. While it’s not perfect (I’m told berbers most often are not), it’s 110% better than what I had. I would recommend (and have recommended) Larry and his company to others.

Used YELP to find American Carpet when looking for new carpeting for condo association. Larry was exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. Prices were very competitive. Installation was quick, easy, and done well. Would highly recommend this company for all your carpet needs!
